Look at the edges of the panel and the spaces around nearby parts. A panel that sits unevenly, a bumper that has pulled away, or a door that no longer opens and closes normally deserves attention rather than a wait-and-see approach.
When paintless dent repair may fit
Paintless dent repair, also called PDR, works with the existing panel and paint when the dent is suitable for that method. A shallow dent with intact paint may be handled differently from a dent with a hard crease or stretched metal.
